Paint Protection?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm just about to order my new L&K Superb and am contemplating having some sort of paint protection put on it.

I'm not sure the dealers offerings are going to be as good as from elsewhere. So, I was wondering what anyone out

there could recommend. Incidentally I live in Crewe so something local would be a benefit.

Its widely accepted that whilst dealers will apply products to new cars the preparation is just not under taken. Preparation is key, as with most things in life.

I would recommend detailing world and navigate to the area showing detailers near you.

Money spent here will give you far better results and longevity. You will also get the best advice on how to maintain the professionals hard work.

I totally echo Steved83's advice.

Me 3.. certainly look into getting a reputable detailer to do the work & look at ceramic with it been a new car. Usually last up to 18 months, possibly longer depending on your budget.

Dealer will offer Supergaurd or similar and they normally aren't applied correctly or even fully. I used to work in Arnold Clark & an independent BMW franchise and we only put 1/2 the kit on. Shocking but they wanted the cars out the door.

Nice to see another brisky from my part of the world.

Autobrite Direct are literally ten minutes up the road from you on the wolstanton turn off of the A500, they offer a detailing service as well as selling their own range of detailing kit.

You could drop in there for a chat and see what they could do for you, if their in house detailer isnt actually detailing he's often around the place.  If nothing else it'll give you a baseline service to compare against and you can pick up a few detailing bits to help keep your motor in the best condition after the detail.

good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I helped someone from here with their Octavia mk3 - Essentially instead of a £400+ lifeshine type protection I did the same with products I love using and believe outperform anything dealers offer, for a lot less.

In fact, I must try and get in touch with that person to see how their car is as its been nearly a year.  I hope it's still decent. :)
