Electronic lamps.

Wierde problem and solution.

Last night the lamp in my PC room started to flash on and off . Replaced it and problem solved. But t'd not got an equivalent and room was a bit dark, so I had a look at base of lamp, to find all solder on the pins had gone. Added some solder to bring pins back to what I thought they should be, tried it back in and all was well .

My theory is poor contact, due to lack of solder -any other ideas /

Is it fairly new - last few years? It might use lead-free solder that can have issues.

Picture here wouldn't go amiss.
