The 932 Type Mystery

Featured Replies

I am very interested in the Skoda 932 prototypes, and would like to investigate further. Is there any clue as to who designed the various components such as the engine, and was the car inspired by the 1931 (the pre-aerodynamic V570) Tatra V570 protoype? The two cars are practically the same concept - backbone, rear engine 4 cyl boxer...

The second 932 prototype (the Tudor) has a very interesting body style which houses more seats than the first (if I'm not mistaken by the photo's). The front end treatment reminds me of the 1933 Zundapp type 12, and the first V570 prototype, with a more traditional shape (perhaps Skoda felt that radical styling would deter possible buyers - the reason why the v570 wasn't launched, or perhaps they wanted to give the car a typical Skoda image).

Anymore photo's out there? I would love to see the rear end of the second prototype, and a high res image of the chassis!

Are the prototype code names related to year of release? EG 1932 932, and 1935 935? In which case the 1934 932 Tudor may be a 1932 chassis with 1934 body?

Hi Paddy,

I've put your request into the Briskoda General section as it will certainly get more exposure down there. More can be read here.
