You should have come and said hello.  Shame PH couldn't take the vRS out, they were a man down on the day so only had one car for passenger laps although it was bloody cold and very slippy so not ideal for a torquey FWD car.

Reviving this thread as I came across it when browsing, what a gorgeous car

Love the removal of the red reflector stripe at the rear. Has this caused you any issues as yet in terms of the MOT?

Unlikely, as both rear light clusters have reflectors in them don't they?

Having recently had a Stage 1 Revo map (over 300bhp reportedly), Stage 3 must be crazy fast!

Curious what clutch you are using?

How are you finding the stage one, What car did you have this fitted too?

Looking at getting a revo stage 1 myself.

I'm nearly ready for stage 2 only need a fmic well a better one.

It's a significant increase in power, very refined but packs a real punch.

MK3 TSI VRS Estate, manual.

I would advise budgeting for an uprated clutch at some point, potentially right after the remap. See my recent 'updated clutch' post

Do the DSG boxes have a issue with a Stage 1 remap? Are they the weak point?

I spoke to midland vw about this a week or so ago - they reckon the DSG box is fine on a stage one map. You apparently only need to make changes (map to increase clamping pressure etc) if you're going for mad power.

Tempted by a stage 1 map myself, just worried about the whole warranty / TD1 thing. The car's less than 12 months old and has only done 6.5k.

Midland VW normally do my remaps and I've also spoken to them about my 230 and can confirm what Stu says.

The car this thread was started about is DSG, and it's on stage 3. It does have updated software for the DSG though.

I do not think they have to be honest. Can anyone clarify?

I don't think they do either; all MK3 Octavias have bumper mounted reflectors, which wouldn't be required if the rear lights had them incorporated.
