Who else has Petrol mk3 Octy but also Fabia mk1 vRS

Featured Replies

Just wondered, how many diesel vRS (mine BLT) + octy petrol owners out there besides me.

(Both mind are unmodified in the engine/bhp front by the way)

I like them both ! Many might think I'd want to get rid of the Fabia but no. Obviously quite a bit more wear and tear on it, noisier and rougher etc, but still quite fun to drive

Actually thats the dilemma...they are both really good cars with a lot of the potential !

( although I suspect the Octy has the overall best potential being newer, certainly the easier potential ).

I got the petrol as more of a long term security - but then I'm hearing about what a great car it is, for say stage 1 so easily for 300hp, or even more which long term could be interesting!

Supposedly already 250hp already rather than 220 if the rolling road guys are to be believed ( is this a bit like the BLT was with it actually turning out to be more like 150 ?)

The problem for me is while the Fabia has potential for 300hp with a big turbos but I'd imagine by which time reliability has the potential to go firmly south by that point and I'd be spending here there on parts left right and center cost big bucks, seems a bit crazy to spend over and above what the cars worth trying to turn it into 2x the car it already is, to me?

- When you could just buy a 2nd hand car with all that done (and normally, doesn't even really increase the value if at all much unless its a well known sought after car I'd imagine). So no, for me I think I'd go modest. Perhaps a 150 with a remap if anything ( already have a Garrett 130 spare but its in need of service ).
