Featured Replies

As above what are the best for a novice to use. Im not looking for 100 pound plus , i have machined 2 cars to date an octavia Vrs and my present car.

I noticed they were different to correct, the Vrs more so but that was black. Both done with a rupes Da 15mm throw..

Thanks for that have you used the gauge yourself.

Yes I have one. It's perfectly fine. Very accurate.

Won't measure plastic panels though but none of the well known ones do. Have to pay big money for that!

I use a Paint Detective.  Very good machine.  I forget what it cost but it was something like £150 in a group deal.

Does the unit have to be registered to use. Had a look on utube see there is a cd, is that to load into the devise. { BTS22 }

+1 for Paint Detective PD8

I managed to pick up a used example for £90.

Had it about 3 years now and very useful.

I borrowed Ste' PDG last weekend and is a great bit of kit. So very easy to use & very clear. Well recommended.

No its just got the manual on and stuff. You don't really need it.

If you can, borrow one.

Saves money if your only using it for the odd car a year.

I have a paint detective PD8 and used it for 6+ years on various cars, just ensure you calibrate it to get an accurate reading
