I Want Rs Springs And Dampers

Featured Replies

Anyone upgrading their suspension?

I would like to buy a std.rs set of springs and dampers for my TDI.

Cheers, jon

I'm pretty sure the front will be too soft since the diesel engine is much heavier than the petrol 1.8t. You are better off buying a suspension upgrade suited for your car. I think KW and H&R both make complete kits for the Octavia diesels.

Yep I agree, as i fitted lowering springs to the Fab at first and the front end was too low.

Later on went for Eibach springs specially suited to the diesel (the first set I fitted were probably designed for the lighter engined petrol versions)

Jon - I think you're about the only member I know of who is more westcountry than me. :D

I would highly recommend eibach springs, at least as a first suspension mod. It's only about

Following on from our PMs, this is what I have found out about the springs for the 3 Octavia variants listed below. (These are just 3 of the 11 different springs listed in ETKA for Octavia variants).

2003 Octavia 130PD TDi

Option codes G15/L06 - front axle weight range 716 - 765 KG

Coil spring - 1J0 411 105 BG

Octavia vRS Hatch

Option codes G85/L13 - front axle weight range 651 - 690 KG

Coil spring for sports-type running gear - 1J0 411 105 AJ

2002 4X4 Estate

Option codes G34/L50 - front axle weight range 686 - 735 KG

Coil spring for models with heavy duty suspension - 1J0 411 105 AN

As you can see the springs in each case differ since they are tuned for the 3 different suspension setups and different weight ranges too.
