Pin hole in washer pipe in the engine bay - best way to fix?

I have been changing the plugs on the Fabia tonight and noticed that there is a pin hole in the washer pipe when being used.

It's near the coolant header bottle and of course is pipe and wires bundled into a wrapped bundle.

It looks to be a bit of a ****** to get too. I was thinking of cutting the pipe at that point and putting a joiner in. Any other recommendations?

bad design, have seen major damage caused to the wiring on a Polo 6R that had the same issue but in the main ECU wiring

Very common issue. Quite often the rear one splits behind the dash. Water ****ing on your feet and electrics is not good. I have repaired with a piece of brake pipe before now. Skoda do proper joiner kits though. Look a lot better and much easier. Personally I'd get two kits and a length of pipe and run an overlay.

Is there a good method for removing the tape to get at the pipe?

A dealer will have loads in stock and know what you are talking about.

I had this exact problem on my golf, i put it down to the pipe being hard plastic rather than rubber and the fact that it may have frozen at some point and split the pipe.

 

I can't remember exactly what i used but i found a tube that was a smaller diameter to join the two parts after cutting out the split part. Then covered it in Epoxy. I did think it may restrict the flow a bit but i didn't notice any difference

Hmm, I may take a peak at mine as I seem to be using more windscreen wash fluid of late! Not noticed water ingress or puddles though but I will defy do an inspection!

Quick cheap fix. QuikTape by Kalimex. It's a waterproof self sealing tape that works perfect for stuff like this.

Just tightly bind a small strip around the circumference of the pipe so that it sticks to itself. Job done.

Got my kit from Meadans of Sway. Part number is 5J0955871A and then B as it's two part.
