2009 VRS FL TDI Servicing intervals

Featured Replies

Hi,

Quick question about service intervals, the manual i have states every 2 years or xxx Km's.

However the service notification on the MFD has popped up stating that a service is due. This is well before what the service manual states.

It was purchased from a dealer March last year and had a full service then, so it should have at least another year left.

Any ideas on which is the one to follow?

Thanks

Is your car configured for fixed or variable service intervals?

Sounds like the car is set to fixed intervals...

Fixed = 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever is reached first.

Variable = up to 2 years or 20,000 miles, the car decides for itself when it needs fresh oil.

Fixed is best for low annual mileage, variable for longer motorway mileage.

Ahh right, I should probably talk to the dealer about getting this set to variable since the car has the extended service option and oil used at the last service.

Thanks
