A main dealer cant do the swap?

I personally did the same swap.

A friend helped me and coded the unit.

I also got the bluetooth module installed.

Maybe skoda can do it maybe not... I guess it depend on their "skills"

Dealers only have technicians now, parts changers, not parts fixers, they justify part swapping as more economical than paying £50/hour labour charges

 

 

then charge me for a new sump plug on an oil change but suck the oil out....

i could change it also code it as I've got vcds plus I'm local too you

It's easy to change and recode - even Halfords do it.

 

So, it's cheaper for the dealers to pay a subby to do it quick and cheap, and let their guys carry on with profitable jobs.
