Poor Boys black hole or 50Cal filler glaze

Featured Replies

As per the title I am undecided as to which to purchase. I have a black magic octy vrs which is going in as part of my new superb deal and I need top money for it. I need something to do the temporary filling to hide the worst of the swirls for a week or so.

Which would you recommend?

Hi mate, I have used both before on my old bkack fabia vrs both are very good products imo but if I had to choose one it would be blackhole, very easy to use and top that off with poorboys nattys blue wax is a winning combo.both products can be had for about £25. Let's us know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will be doing some purchasing at lunch today so hopefully in the next week or so (dry day required!) I will give it a go and let you know how I get on.

Just getting time to catch up on the forum this week.

I started with Blackhole years ago; great product for the money and the QD+ on top gives great results.

I think its a fine product for the money; but there are a few better that have come along since...

50cal filler glaze is great and also KKD reGloss is another great step forward as well.

Just highlights that there are no real horrendous products, but what works for one, may not be as successful for another.

Wouldn't normally reccommend this stuff, but Auto Glym Ultra Deep Shine really worked on my black Capri. Though that was painted in 2k paint so not sure if that will change the effect. But heres a photo below to show you the difference:

Nearest horizontal "strip" - unpolished
2nd strip   - Polish applied
Final half - end product!

On the 50cal web site you can buy sample/gift packs, one of which has the filler glaze and a wax. They are all 60ml bottles, would that do a full car (in my case an octy estate)??

Should be fine Jamie - i only have sample packs on 50cal Penta wax and filler glaxe as well.

Both have done a car already and still plenty to spare.

Well I used the 50 cal products and have to say they were really easy to apply and get a great finish on my black magic paint. It was a very overcast day so it was nearly impossible to tell if it did hide the swirls but it looked a lot better afterwards. The penta wax went on really easily and buffed off without too much effort. One thing I would point out is that it would benefit from a da as doing by hand was hard work and probably didn't get the best results.

Hopefully these links work. As I says very overcast so doesn't show the swirls but they are most definitely still there. Needed a light correction.

That looks really deep and glossy! These products usually benefit from being worked in well with a DA. But you've done a great job by hand there buddy. Thanks for taking the time to update us!
