Yeti DAB radio

Featured Replies

After a thoroughly unsatisfactory year in a VW Polo I am thinking of returning to Skoda, my partner seeming to like the look of the Yeti.

Having got used to the DAB radio in my Polo, enjoy 6music, Planet Rock, does anyone know when Yeti`s went over to DAB radios amusing they ever did?

Maybe a minor detail but just intrigued. The listings on the used car site dont make it clear.

You have to have it as an extra unless you have a LK model

Spec as an extra on my new Yeti.

+1

Extra on my Elegance, DAB, FM (luckily) AM

I take it he is thinking of getting a second hand car so wants to know when the DAB option was first offered.

If you are looking at older Yeti's then;

in 2011 the Amundsen satnav without DAB was an option. but the SE Plus models were fitted with this as standard.

soon after the Amundsen+ was available it looks exactly the same but the + means it has DAB.

when I got my Yeti in March 2014, it came with the Amundsen+.

It was later that year in 2014 they stopped the Amundsen+ and they started using the new Amundsen unit with the larger screen and this one hasn't got a CD slot.

When I bought mine I wanted one with DAB. I gave up on the end and spent the money on the Skoda aftermarket one & OEM DAB aerial.

Works nicely with the advantage over the built in one that you can pause/rewind/fast forward if someone on the car talks during the news

I've had 2 Yeti SE Plus, both with Amundsen+.

Neither had DAB.

Hmm,

My first Yeti was a 2011 just had the Amundsen Unit without the '+'  did not have DAB.

My newer Yeti has got the '+' and has DAB

So I assumed that the '+' meant it is an updated model that has DAB.

The ops manuals for both are different and the '+' has the extra detail in it.

How much?

How much?

£280 installed apparently.

Despite looking similar the Amundsen and Amundsen Plus are completely different. The Amundsen Plus can be a standard AM/FM unit, a standard AM/FM unit with Bluetooth, or an AM/FM/DAB with or without Bluetooth.

Mine is the RNS315 with the 5 inch screen.

I haggled when I was buying the car and got it as a free factory fitted option in my Elegance.

It has AM/FM/DAB with Bluetooth and Voice recognition. Its not fare if they charge £150 extra to make it do what its meant to do it.

  • 3 weeks later...

I had to specify a DAB radio on the new SEL I will be picking up next week, as here in Suffolk we get poor reception on non-FM stations due to continental interference.
