2lt 190tdi

Featured Replies

Has any one got the 2lt 190tdi whats it like to drive power etc.

Thanks.

190 DSG L&K 4x4 Kombi. Power is good as long as the turbo is spooled up. 'Off turbo' it is distinctly lacking in acceleration and needs careful use of the gears to get the best out of it. It isn't that it's particularly bad, just that it could be better at low rpm, especially given the engine/gear map wants to keep it as low as it can.

It is much better in Sport mode - as would be expected.

They are not as quick as the 190 may suggest, but it's not slow either.

Power is plentiful when needed to overtake.

Coming from a C5 tourer with 163 hp (1700kg aut. trans) the lighter 190 superb (dsg) feels like a racecar in comparison. (and thats with 200km driven from new.. Assume it will open up even more in a couple of months or so.

That's my experience too.
