This might sound stupid but how r u going to fix that

I suspect turbo oil seals. So I really need a new turbo, but as it is running fine I can't bring myself to spend the money on it!

This oil is normal and no reason for getting nervous

So, if the oil is not on the garage floor and not in the underbodytray or as a coat at the complete underbody of the car, not in the cooling water and also not in the diesel it is burnt and gone through the exhaust......So, no crack in the head !

Blue smoke is not a must, it can be.....how many miles on the clock? Always accurate oil service? Which oil...thin 0W30 5W30 ?

May have had the wrong oil put in, Might be too thin for a normally worn engine and just burning it.

Light comes on undo oil filler cap plenty of smoke comes out let it cool down for a couple of mins put the cap back on hey presto light goes out.

Oil is low but when it cools down a little the oil rises not back up to full level but it does rise.

Any ideas might explain why it's burning the oil cheers.

...and again!   ..how many miles on the clock?  Always accurate oil service?  Which oil...thin 0W30, 5W30 ?

... plenty of smoke comes out     Smoke(blue) or steam(white) ?

...filler cab inside ?   black oily or brown emulsion ?

...filler cab ventilation ? works or blocked ? Clean cap with brake cleaner

It's done 107371 now filler cap is just black oil smoke is very faint blue

The oil is 5-40 from TPS so not wrong oil

Due to the tandem pump exhausting into the top of the cam cover, its quite normal to get a lot of steamy/oily mess blowing out of the oil cap if you take it off when the engine is running

No never took the filler cap off when it's been running.

No never took the filler cap off when it's been running.

Sorry, misread your earlier post due to your terrible punctuation  :D

Thanks very much

get thicker oil. usual problem.

5W-40 minimum

I always use 5W-40 and never lost or added oil in my Fabia HR II with 335k km on ODO

Never add oil to my Octavia HR I with 180k km on ODO

I forgot, an other common problem is damaged turbo...leaking oil to intercooler. Jut remove manifold from/to intercooler and you will see most likely a lake of oil

A do use 5/40 oil and the turbo is new it's only been on about 3 weeks.
