What's the engine code?

I would bet a lot of money that it has a DMF. I thought all the 1.9 PD engines had DMFs ever since they were introduced.

The car will (100% no doubt about that) have been built with a DMF fitted. All diesel engines have been fitted with them since the 90s right up to ones still rolling off the production line today.

There is an approved SMF conversion for the 1.9 PD105 for the Octavia so I assume the same applies to the Fabia.

So unless yours has already had an SMF conversion within it's lifetime it will be fitted with a DMF.

I can't quite get my head round even Skoda UK telling you it's fitted with an SMF!

The quickest and easiest way to check a DMF (first for the presence of and also the condition of) is to remove the starter motor and using a screwdriver (or similar) to wiggle the flywheel around. A garage shouldn't charge too much to do that.

But your noise on this and your previous video do sound a bit like a DMF to me but that noise would normally happen with the clutch up and disappear with it pressed. Could be the release bearing on the clutch perhaps?

Thing is if you wait till it gets worse it could just go bang on the motorway one day then you're stuck and potentially cause further damage.
