good news i think,

my octy has been released by the police today and the insurance company are in the process of bringing her home

i'm sure the insurance will sort out all the damage. i've insisted that it goes to my local VW main dealer as they also hold a skoda dealership 25 miles away and they have a good reputation.

i am a little concerned about how many miles it's put on since its gone away

it looks like the wheels are thick with black brake dust and they were spotless when it was taken so i'm sure it's been driven damn hard!!!!

i've intructed the repairing garage that i want a full mechanical inspection and although the key has been returned i also want new locks etc fitted. not too sure if they will go for that but it's worth a try!!!

hopefully i'll have her back by Xmas

Hopefully it wont have been treated too badly by the crims as they'd have been keeping a low profile before the 'job' and it was only driven in anger for a couple hundred yards. Interesting story if you ever sell it though!!

Doesnt look to bad, the skoda dealer could possibly wangle a set of seat covers under warranty, that would sort those out. I would get the locks/keys changed if only for piece of mind.

do the leather seats have removeable covers then? if so i would push like hell to have them changed!!!!

Yes. covers are removable. A few on here have had them changed because of fraying.

It was used by gangsters a bit like in Pulp Fiction, they blew someones brains all over the back seat, then a bit like the Dukes of Hazard/Cannonball Run/Smokey and the Bandit, their was a high speed hot pursuit involving lots and lots of inept police drivers crashing their cars spectacularly then climbing out of the wreckage and throwing their hats to the floor!!
