bolero screen dead

Featured Replies

evening all,

this morning i had a strange one.

it was around 1C loads of snow on the car/ scraped it off and got the car warming up. I noticed the screen didnt turn on (must have switched it off when i got out of the car the night before)

so i hit the power button and the screen remained dead.

on my 45 min commute to work i kept manually turning the car off and restarting. Hoping to get the screen going again. No luck. Stereo and bluetooth still worked just the screen wasnt functioning.

I called skoda drive line who booked me into the local dealer. Superb courtesy call all booked.

Had a terrible day at work and yet when i drove home this evening- the screen turned on as per usual with the VRS logo and chequered flag

I still think im gonna take it in , in case there are any loose connections etc

Think it's a common fault with the screen. My Bolaro Radio in my MKIII Vrs changes channels on it's own the decides to ring someboby in my contacts.

Been onto the Skoda dealer and Skoda UK but they insist on a video of the said actions before they'll do anything about it.

I wasn't aware it was a common fault! Have you got any info to what the problem may have been?

Calling contacts randomly is a bit worrying!

If it happens again...press and hold the power button for 10 secs so it soft resets the infotainment....9/10 times it will come back on as normal.

My 5 month old Golf GTD with MIB2 Amundsen equivalent suffers this issue...occasionally the screen comes on but without sound also. Its had a firmware update at the dealers and now alot better but still does it v occasionally.

It only seems to happen when it's cold outside. I think some members have had a new screen fitted.

MMmmmmmm,  Hope it dosen't decide to ring the Girl Friend when Mrs Goldfinger is alone in the Car   :x

I had this on my 63 reg VRS, after numerous software updates and a new media unit Skoda Technical tried to fob my dealers off, my dealer then rang round a few dealerships and eventually were told to try new connector blocks at the rear of the head unit and so far this appears to have solved the issue as there were damaged connector pins when they checked.
