Restoring original car software / MAP?

Featured Replies

Our Octavia mkII 2.0 TDI PD has been likely badly remapped and the 2nd hand dealership in question has gone out of business.

There has been a lot of mechanical wear and tear like turbo, injectors clutch and DMF - that's all been done. The car is still running poorly, smoking when cold and misfiring at low revs (under 1400 rpm). We are 99% sure now it has got the wrong map / re-map. We also found some free / additional cables running from / to turbo.

What is the best way to obtain a clean tidy original software for the car? We prefer to keep it 100% stock if possible.

If its got wires running to the turbo, it could have possibly had a tuning box attached at some point.

As far as checking your software etc, you could take it to a reputable tuner that can map cars. Most will have 'stock' type maps, albeit it won't be 100% original. It will however, if done properly give near exact results :)
