Rear Camera Guide Lines

Featured Replies

After driving Jag's, Range Rover's and even Renault with rear view cameras, all of which had additional lines that moved as you turned the steering wheel, I was/am amazed the Octy doesn't.

At first I wondered if it was something that could be enabled, but then I saw it shown on a Skoda image (which I can't find now, typically) so I'm now wondering if it should do it and there's just something not right with mine.

So, if you've got a rear view camera, so you have guide lines that move as you turn the wheel? Just so I have ammunition top go back to the dealer with! Thanks in advance :)

VAG do two different versions. One with and one without the 'guide lines'. Someone will be along with more (and better) info soon though.

No, my BM does but our L&K with rear cam is static lines.

Ah I didn't know that. I've got a 16MY vRS DSG TDI if that helps narrow it down for people. I appreciate the heads up!

Skoda fit the lesser of the reversing cameras.

The one that does move the lines on the camera image has a separate control module.

Can anyone tell me where the camera control module is located? RHD hatch if it matters.

highline version has moving lines, lowline doesnt.

you have lowline.

You said it....Jags, Range Rovers. Can't really compare with that price mark.

OK and Renault, french cars have always been a bit gadgety.

- Makes up for them being so crap in so many other areas to get the foolish punters to part their readies - don't feel too jealous ;)

First world problems eh ! I've yet to even get the reverse camera retrofit yet, and I still seem to be living and breathing and the car isn't a burning wreck. I wouldn't worry about such gimmicks personally ( camera might be useful, eventually, lines, not at all bothered by, the mk1 eyeball is always far more accurate anyway ).

There is something called common sense though, something a **** in Kettering driving a Corsa that went flying at least 5mph in reverse (from a cash machine area / drop off ) into my Fabia without the use of any gadgets, ought to learn !
