Double din stereo not working (continued)

Featured Replies

Still getting no life from the double din stereo, checked all the relevant fuses and all ok, are there any other known faults at all? Bare in mind with the factory stereo, i had to turn on and off manually.

Sounds like you've lost the ignition live check the back of the ignition barrel for any signs of an issue. Also check the two feeds at the back of the stereo, you should have one permanent live and one switched live.

Ignition is a good shout, how easy is it to get out on one of these?

It won't be the ignition barrel itself, it will be the electrical connections on the back of it.

Disconnect the battery, remove the airbag after waiting 10 mins, remove steering wheel, remove upper and lower column cowls, refit steering wheel and airbag, reconnect the battery, then you can check the voltages from the rear of the ignition. I would check to see if you have s switched feed at the stereo first as it's easier.

Found the cause, ended up having to rewire the stereo to a ignition switch feed from the rear window heater, works a treat now
