Bad day...

Featured Replies

So Lexi's wing mirror just got made crap of by one of our neighbours..

he's already said he'll pay for a new one etc. Still a dose though..

i heard a thump thought it was a car door, then our othe neighbours were at the dor with some plastic trim pieces and a mirror... told us what happened - theyd seen it while playing on the green.

just cut it off the wires as that was all that was holding it.

he admitted to looking down as phone rang speed im not sure, but im just glad its just the mirror got taken out. The body colour part of the surround is intact. But the mounting part snapped clean in half.

had no choice but cut the motor/heater loom. Will make up a duct tape closure to fill the gap when swmbo gets back from popping to the shop, keep the rain out until its replaced during the week.

i think ptsd - whiplash claim payouts are being reviewed here so money wont be as good as some mental trauma :D

Could have been a child or someone instead of your mirror. No one hurt which is a good thing

Exactly. Kids in our part of the estate are generally quite good about staying on footpaths, but round the other side the little spanners are always running out into the road after footballs and stuff..

noone hurt no major damage done, a wing mirror and it associated cable is all.

True too.. witnesses makes it harder ti avoid.

also helps that i have part of his wing mirror that came too :) neighbour kids gave me all the broken bits off the road, one trim panel is definitely off his focus :) so its like a ransom, ill give it back wen i know how much its gonna cost for replacement bits.

Ill drop it back tomorrow evening :p

Damn right.

You could always add on labour costs if you were so inclined. After all, you wouldn't be expected to do anything yourself these days ;)

Just depends if he fancies being awkward :).

He wont be awkward, tbf he was reeally apologetic about it. And ill probably be able to fit new one myself, just depends on hiw far back the loom needs to go. Not had the innerds pulled out of the citigo door, but presume theres a plug in there somewhere..

Aaand its fixed  €200 inc fitting. Guy called up yesterday asking did we want the money then- we had let him the rough quote on monday - i said no wed wait until after its dine incase the price changes when they see it or cant recycle some of the bits.

Had a good poke around the superb demo.nice touches - the aircon in glove box.. the lift back boot like the octy is a big seller for me.. the box holders for in the boot.. cant afford one or justify finance on it - id look good driving up to one of my project sites to meet my crews in that.. scraping the sump along our temp haul roads :D, but nice for future second hander...
