Replaced 2014 VRS TSI DSG Hatchback with...

Featured Replies

The new one is corrida red, the old one was race blue.  I went for the red because race blue is just so common now.  But I have to say that I prefer the blue.

It may be that it's new, or something to do with different tyres but the new car seems smoother and quieter.  And that's despite the fact that I haven't got around to disconnecting the sound generator on the new car as I did fairly early on with the old car.  Perhaps red is just a quieter colour  :notme: .

Is it Metallic Red or just the Old Corrida sombre Red.

If its Corrida Red, then it's not so in your face loud!

The parking spaces look familiar ;) I think I picked mine up from there a couple of weeks ago. Are you local?

Maybe the old one had an aftermarket exhaust that you didn't know of

Though so :) When I viewed my car there was a lovely looking red VRS with black pack behind mine. Mine's a Race Blue hatchback (just like your old one lol)

I remember when red used to be the most common colour. Blue is the new red, or is it red is the new blue?

I wanted red when I ordered my TSi but would have had to wait 6 months so took Moon White - which is okay for now!

Just about to replace my 2013 with a 2016 one, as jonjc has said changed from Race Blue which is now too common to Quartz Grey or Metallic Grey so to be less common!

Just got to wait for DVLA to do their magic at the moment, with differing V5s and certificate of entitlement.

No aftermarket exhaust but actually you might have a point. An exhaust with 40,000+ on the clock is obviously a lot closer to needing replacing than a brand new one. So perhaps that explains the perceived difference in noise levels.

I only waited 2.5 months for corrida red 16 vrs. Much better than the 6months I waited for my 2014 vrs
