Unlocking/locking using remote key fob

Featured Replies

This is just my second post (other than the intro I posted) so please go easy on me!  I've tried searching first but couldn't find a definitive answer to my question.  Basically, how many times do I need to press the unlock button on the key fob to unlock all doors and the boot?

So far I've gathered:

  1. Pressing unlock once seems to unlock just the driver's door.
  2. Pressing lock once locks everything and activates the alarm/internal sensors.
  3. Pressing lock twice disables internal sensors but locks doors.
  4. Pressing and holding unlock will wind down the windows.
  5. Pressing and holding lock will put the windows back up.
  6. Pressing the boot button once unlocks just the boot.
  7. Pressing and holding the boot button unlocks and pops the boot so it's ready to be lifted.

If I've got all that right then it's just the unlocking I'm struggling with.  Apologies in advance for what is possibly the most pathetic first post ever on any car forum since the dawn of time!

Thanks in advance.

You can actually set some of this through the car button on the Head Unit.

1 - Default is press once to open the drivers door only, press twice to open all doors. You can change this to unlock one side, or unlock all doors.

4 and 5 - Pressing and holding the buttons is called Comfort Closing or something like that. It's great unless you sit on the keys and the windows open when it's raining :(

Thanks for this... in relation to '1' - does it have to be two fairly quick presses of the 'unlock' button or do they have to be fairly slow do you know?  Maybe I'm double-pressing too quickly, it's not recognising the second press and just opening the driver's door.

I'm not sure, I've set it to unlock all. The manual says the others are unlocked when the process is repeated?

Yes there's option in Car menu somewhere. I unlock all doors by pressing one time unlock button and close all doors pressing lock button one time.

Number 3 - how can you tell exactly wether it's normal locked or locked without the sensors activated?

Get in the car and move

That's not much use to me if I'm outside the car and it's locked now is it!!

The other way to tell then is count how many times you press the lock button ;)

Handy to know that, having dogs on the back seat - saves me reaching in and pushing the button on the B-pillar.

Eh yeah thanks [emoji39]
