RED World Rally Team's negotiations with Skoda have collapsed, and so seeminly the chance of Colin McRae securing a 2006 Fabia drive. There is a slim chance the Scot could drive the 2nd Red Bull Fabia which has yet to be allocated.

A statement on RED's website reads:

For several weeks now RED has been involved in a bid to bring the Skoda WRC programme to the UK. Discussions and negotiations have been ongoing and finally reached a conclusion this week.

Ever since it became clear that Skoda were not going to continue with their WRC campaign, a decision taken before Rally Australia, ISC tabled a bid that would have seen a two car Skoda Team being run out of the UK by RED.

That's a shame - would have been good to see what could have been with Colin for a full season with a decent team backing him.,
