Central arm rest power for bluetooth receiver

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm planning on putting a bluetooth receiver into the central arm rest, with the output from the receiver connecting to the auxiliary audio input for the stereo.

There are a lot of cheap PCBs with batteries which will do this but I'd like to hard wire the installation so that I do not need to remove it in order to charge it.

I see that there is a cigarette lighter in front of the hand brake, which appears to be the closest power source which I could use with say a 12v to 5v step down module etc.

Has anyone done a similar project or got power into the arm rest storage, or taken that part of the trim off the car etc I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thanks

The fag lighter socket is permanently live.
