In another blow to manufacturer involvement in the World Rally Championship, Mitsubishi has announced that it has decided to suspend its participation from 2006.

With WRC cars costing as they do now around 300 - 500,000 pounds EACH , it is hardly surprising that so many manufacturers are feeling the pinch ... and the FIA in its infinite wisdom has slowly added rounds to the championship as they have done with F1 ... 16 last year in WRC ??

I remember when the World Championship was about 8 rounds and the European Championship counted for a lot more ... we might be heading back that way in the near future ...
