Is it possible that my car was mapped using a MBC

Featured Replies

Hi, I've had my Octavia for a few months now, and since getting it, it has had a Manual boost controller. As I'm aware, Manual boost controllers are frowned upon for 1.8t's, but I've tried removing it and there is a huge power loss without it. It's tapped in to the line going from the n75 valve to the wastegate, which allows it to boost about 3-4 psi more than usual, and with this, it's a completely different car.

Does this sound like its been used to map my car?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like. I would remove it back to stock and get a proper remap however.  A manual controller cant be a good solution.

I will eventually, but If i'm getting it remapped again, I'm getting a k300 turbo on it with supporting mods for 300 bhp.

Just to clarify -

The MBC is placed between the wastegate and the n75 valve so it allows a little more boost. It's not the usual n75 bypass method which doesn't support half throttle, which seems to be the only downfall.
