Daft Plasti-dip question...

Featured Replies

Ok this is maybe a daft question..... If you plasti-dip a chrome grill surround does it leave any residue etc.... if it is then removed? We're thinking of putting plasti-dip on her vRS grill surround and was under the impression its easy enough to peel back off again if it's not to the mrs' liking but I wondered if once removed you would still be able to tell it had been there etc...

Also I have the foglight surrounds waiting to be painted so that also made us think about trying it out as I would also plasti-dip the foglight surrounds rather than painting them.... Then if she does decide she doesn't like the look I can remove the plasti-dip from the grille and foglight surrounds and just paint the foglight surrounds their normal silver colour.

I seem to recall it just peels off

It'll do no harm and leave no residue :) make sure you give it a light cost followed by 6 heavy wet coats. The thicker the coverage is the easier it is to peel. too thin and it can be a bit of a nightmare to remove

Just didn't want it to leave the chrome surround in a right state once removed etc.... :)
