HELP! Brake pads warning cable

Featured Replies

I've changed my front discs and pads today and someone had smashed the sensor cable connector and bodged it with electrical tape, so now what do I do? Can the cable be bought?

56 plate vrs tfsi

You can buy a new connector as load the old connectors into it, I've done that on a 2000MY Passat when my VW dealer seemed to have broken mine while replacing a wheel bearing - and yes might was also covered in insulating tape, but in my case the insulating tape was used to hide the severed cable from sight!!!

These connectors do have a VAG p/n moulded into them, so use a magnifying glass to find out the correct p/n.

Cut the cable, solder the wires together and heat shrink it up tidily, job done.

Cheers, I'll give it a go in the morning, or at least when it's not raining.
