Fabia Monte q's

Featured Replies

Looking at a Fabia monte carlo in either 1.2 tsi or 1.6 tdi guise

Not really bothered on engine bhp as both varients will be as flat as a pancake from what i have came from (remapped 330d coupe with 280bhp :( )

Looking to reduce monthly outgoings.

Basically my question is. How does the fabia fair in size as a family car with a newborn and can a pram thing (whatever they are called) fit in the boot easy enough?

Cheers

Can I suggest that the estate offers what you really need. Both have the engine options that you have mentioned. The extra payload will be very much to your advantage.

I must also admit that the other half will be driving it the majority of the time..

I dont know how she would get on with an estate ??

We have a hatch and a one year old. Isofix fits in the rear OK. We have a maxicosi. If anything it's sits slightly tilted to the rear so OK. Boot space is a squeeze but a silver cross wayfarer and pioneer prams have but fitted without removing wheels. And they are quite large prams. The 1.2 petrol 105 bhp. Is surprising. There quite nipoy and like being revved. You would have to put shopping inside the cabin as a pram would fill the boot fully. I would look at an estate there not that much bigger than the hatch. But the additional boot space would be handy.

Or maybe as an alternative to the Monte, how about a Scout? ;)

As far as im aware both varients of the 1.2tsi and 1.6tdi are the exact same units just different mapping?

I was considering a mark 6 golf also, would probably need to be a hatchback.

If it was me only driving it i would happily get something like a 5 series estate :(

But anything more than a hatchback would be a big no no for her :o

Yes differentmapping.

I would find a garage local to you with a hatch and estate and get her to look at both. There really not a big estate more of a bigger hatch. Just remind if she likes the estate you can have the roof wrapped to match the hatches looks

Can the roof bars come off the estate?

The roof rails can in theory yes but there will be holes in the roof.

I like the rails!

I must also admit that the other half will be driving it the majority of the time..

Send her out in a vrs estate

Guaranteed to put a smile on her face. :)

I doubt it..... She has no interest in speed. Aslong as she doesnt have to drop a gear up a hill then she's happy, anything around 100bhp will be like a ferrari to her

Monte's are supposed to be 105, but mine is 115 and some have been reported to be running as high as 120. From standard. nippy little cars. I think you should get yourself to a dealership and take your buggy thing with you to see if it will fit. They won't mind you trying it out, it's what they're there for.

I have bought one today

63 plate 1.2 tsi 105bhp in red

No extra's

7,800 miles for £8,300

Im sure i'll squeeze something in the boot :)

Either that or just cable tie the kid to the roof :)

Hatch?

Hatch?

Yes hatchback

Test drove it today.

Was more than surprised. The little 1.2 tsi 105 had alot more grunt than i had expected.

The car seems to retain some of the mk1 vrs's charm.

I am rather impressed.

So deal is done. Car is immaculate with 2 main dealer services already (only 7k miles)

:)

That's a bargain. All working well and no pull to one side?
