Garmin PID issues

Featured Replies

Ive recently encountered an issue with my Garmin-model PID.

A few days ago, it stopped "booting up" when connected to the car - the skoda logo was shown and the little dots would constantly move in the bottom right corner, but it would never get any further.

I did a Factory reset, using the Garmin Fresh tool (took about an hour) - the device is now at the "connect device to car and switch the ignition on"

After connecting back to the car, that screen will not disappear.

Has anyone else encountered this or is it time for a trip to the dealer?

Visit to dealer I'm afraid. In 3 years ownership I was on my 3rd PID. 1x Navigon and 1x Garmin replaced under warranty, 2nd Garmin playing up. Glad to see the back of the PID when changed Citigo for a Yeti few days ago.

In the experience the PID is a pile of w*nk, the only part of the Citigo I've had cause to complain about.

As i suspected really - it was a nice gimmic when i got the car 3 years ago, but soon turned into a PITA having to plug it in and wait for it to boot/connect to phone to be able to stream music (in the absence of a DAB radio!)

Totally agree. Mine was changed from a Navigon to a Garmin but that was troublesome too.

My Garmins slow at booting up now too after a year, have got a new battery to put in at some point to see if that helps
