Car is completely immaculate

Few niggling points, rear drums were corroded

So hit them with a bit of satin black

And car came with no mats, so got some genuine ones fitted. What i have noticed is a lot of the materials used in the mk2 fabia are a downgrade from the old mk1 vrs. For example poor carpets and mat quality

Oh and it will most definately be getting hit with the lowering stick. Trying to decide between h&r springs or eibachs at the moment

I was not expecting that! Surprised you can entertain that sitting on the drive, at that ride height :D

Definite budget constraints evident in the Fabia Mk2 and stuff like the Rapid - no doubt at all.

I was not expecting it either.

Circumstances have changed and the fabia is a 1/3 of the outgoings of the bmw so something had to give.

I am gutted about parting with the bmw, i cant say the fabia excites me in the slightest.

I need to slam it into the tarmac before being seen in it

Well today i have

Polished it

GardX 2 stage'd it

Waxed it

Waxed the alloys

Tyre black

Blacked all the rubbers

And thats as exciting as it has got today. Hopefully can put private plate on soon and lower on some h&r's

What are the gains with one, on the 1.2TSI ?

What are the gains with one, on the 1.2TSI ?

They quote a 20bhp gain. 125bhp from 105bhp

But rumour has it that the 1.2tsi in the real world is circa 120bhp so if i get around 140bhp i'll be happy

Obviously all pie in the sky untill i get it rolling roaded. Which knowing me i probably will sooner than later.

Its not just fuelling, connects to boost sensor, camshaft sensor and inlet manifold sensor

Havent tried it yet thats after tea job

Jesus it can fairly go now for a 1.2 scrapper

I never thought you would get one of these!

Its a funny little car. Has all the essence and feeling of the mk1 vrs. Which was a special car imo.

The mk2 is not as good but its a hoot to drive now.

Will lower it soon i think

I know what you mean, I went from having a Leon with circa 205 bhp to a monte carlo 1.2 tsi and it's a blast to drive.

They certainly dont feel like a 1.2, I did a few 0-60 tests and it was around 8 seconds (tuning box fitted).

I've got a 1.2 TSI Monte estate and the only thing I don't like about it is it's just that bit too slow for me. By the sounds of things a tuning box or remap really gives it a new lease of life!

Its is very surprising actually.

Get the TMC one closest thing to a remap. Other boxes just increae fuelling. This also does boost

I came from a 280bhp 330d :o

Looking better now you're making your stamp on things. Those rusty drums made my teeth itch!

Where did you jack the car up and put axle stands when you were painting the drums? It's a pain when the Monte Carlo bodykit only gives you a small part of the sill

There are places to jack it up like. Designed for the jack in the boot but those jacks are death traps. I used a trolley jack and like a rubber thing (think of a hockey puck made of rubber) and jacked it up on the sill where the jack in the boot is designed to go :)

I have the TT Jacking Pads fitted so can jack up on those. The only problem is where to put the axle stands. I can't put them on the sill gap as the jack is in the way, so trying to figure out whether I can jack up somewhere else or put axle stands somewhere else.

Oh i never bothered with axle stands

Had one sitting below it not touching just in case

I think the TT jacking pads are only ment to be used when on a lift by lifting all 4 at once. Im sure lifting the car on just one can dent the floor in
