Lowering my Greenline

I am thinking about lowering my Greenline with Eibach Pro springs. I have had these springs before and was suitably impressed. Lower without being impractically low and still retaining comfort as the springs are progressive. Has anyone else used these springs on their Superb or had experience with lowering the Greenline model in particular?

I'm sure the Greenline is 15-25mm lower than the standard superb as it is? Incase you didn't know?

I think you're right, I had it at 15mm in my head...I just think aesthetically it would benefit from dropping a bit more.

Mine is lowered a bit too much I think (40mm) on HR springs from new (first owner).

When I need to replace things I'll go for a 30mm drop from standard. I think this will give the right balance of look, stance, practicality and handling/braking. I do want to update the ARBs though as this is where I think a heavy car can be transformed especially under heavy braking (nose diving).

Hi Dave, I think the Eibach springs are a 30mm drop...might only drop my Greenline 15mm but I think it will be worth it and tighten things up a bit.

Hi Bigjohn, I have seen that thread, I don't have any issues with mine currently and I go over some pretty hefty speed bumps on my route to and from work.

I've lowered mine with Eibach Pro springs (30mm drop all round) on standard shocks with no problems. Much better ride than standard. More controlled over undulating A & B roads and hardly any roll in faster bends. It even improved the ride around town - no ore joggling from the standard springs! The car also looks much better. (Mind you I also have 15mm hub-centric spacers all round too.)

 

If it's a daily driver then I wouldn't go much lower than 30mm unless you want to scrape the front spoiler or sills on dodgy speed humps or the odd high kerb at the front when parking. My Eibach Pro's have been on 3+ years and have not sagged at all.

Hi, here's a few shots showing the lowered stance and the 15mm spacer effect of making the wheels/tyres fill the arches vs standard set up. The car's on a slight incline so the tyre/arch clearance front and rear are not quite the same but only a few mm different. Will try and get a side shot on the flat tomorrow.

I have had the car fully loaded and there's no rubbing from the tyres on the inside of the arches.

Out of interest, and on a completely unrelated note, what's the circular thing behind the wheel arch in the second picture?

The 'circular thing' is the LPG filler cap. I had the car converted as soon as I bought it so I pay less than half the price of petrol per litre for LPG :D . Car runs really well on it too even with an ECU remap at 215hp.

Anyway below are some side shots of the car lowered on Eibach Pro springs (standard shocks) and 15mm hub-centric spacers. Personally I think it's miles better than standard - perhaps how Skoda should have done it in the first place!
