Problem with sensors front and back.

Featured Replies

When I bought my Octy DSG  Est in mid 2012 I had front sensors fitted as  an extra. (amongst other extras). Seemed to work OK though. Had them fitted as useless at parking!!

After about 6 months after driving through fairly heavy rain on the M3 I pulled up at shop head on, the front indicators came on. As they should! When I pulled away the sensors were showing something in front. As I was about 4m away from anything I thought something was wrong Took it to local squealer. They checked it and said it was OK. 3 months down the line it happened again! Took it back, this time the said they had sprayed the front and under bumper with water from a hose pipe. I commented that at the rate water came up under the bumper when  driving on a motorway they should have used a power hose! no comment but they did replace all the front sensors as well as having the visible bits colour coded to the paint colour.

Around a year later it happened about half mile  from the squealers. Took it in and said come and have a look they said book it in and we will have another look? So same thing happened again. This time complained to Skoda UK. made notes and Naff all happened. When it happened again took it back to garage they checked it again then showed me a piece of paper which said it was  known fault!! WTF !!

A few months later It happened yet again. This time I got out or the car and videoed it happening from in and outside of the car. Gave clip to local garage to send to SKUk. Nothing!

It happened again and I filmed it as it happened with it firing off when cars were passing about 4m away and it kept going as well with nothing there.

So back to garage whose chief Tech took control and sent 33mb clip to SKUk again. Nothing yet although he has been at SKUk people for the last 3 weeks. Nothing again. Chief tech said it could be the control box  but would wait for SKU to act????

Anyone else had this and know what the cure is?
