Had a break in at work lastnight, had massive amounts of IT equipment stolen and all before 9.30pm. Amoungst Items missing

5 or more Laptops,

5 Sony LCD Projectors,

Digital Cameras,

Handheld PDA's,

2 x Apple Mac G5 base units and an external HD,

PDA cradles

Some smaller items.

They broke into all the cupboards including locked ones looking for stuff and gained access by breaking through all the security doors.

We have 24hr security, and the breakin was discovered at 9.30ish. They must have been disturbed, as a brand new pc was still waiting to be picked up with LCD monitor etc.

Grotbags.Sorry to hear it.We were done in September and still trying to resolve matters with the insurers and our rubbish alarm company.(its like dealing with more crooks)

Hope you sort it.Don't expect more than a nice crime number from the police.Do they ever catch burglars?

Yeah tough luck. We also got done in the 3rd week at our new premisis! useless alarm company had not left us the correct instructions to setting the alarm, so while we all thought that we were setting the alarm right, all we were doing is making it beep! :o three weeks later, we got all shiney replacement bits from Dell and the rascals came back, but this time we were ready and they only managed to make off with the plants from outside the front door

Is that all stuff that was being used at work or goods for sale.........if it's working computers companies have folded for less .......talking of which if someone turns them on and connects to the web will they start folding

Good luck finding the little **%%**$

Happened a year ago here. Only got away with 2 old laptops.

But

Some sensative info got to our competitors. Also a mobile phone company got all our phone numbers and tried to sell us mobiles (tried to get the name of the company but the person (from a call centre in India) hung up. Same likewise with others,

This could have been just for the equipment. Likewise it could have been for the information (id theft)

Just wish the computers (if stolen) would destroy themselves with red dye.

Nearly all the stuff taken was in daily use. The 2 apple macs were used for all the DTP work, and we believe the external HD that was stolen may contain the system backup. I say may because the person who uses it is on leave till next year, so it looks like they have lost a lot of data/templates.

In the haul was a brand new HP Ipaq and Sony K750i both still wrapped in their boxes.

Sorry to here this Bro but the cameras how much did you want for them £30.

Our office is supposed to be secure, with voisitors needing appointments etc. and having to sign in and out.

Bengie, however, managed to blag his way in with apparent ease

Our server is backed up every night to an external IP hard drive located in the roof space.

Same happened at my old work. We had swipecards on all the doors, however the security installers 'failed to notice' the window behind the reception desk could be removed to allow access to the whole building. :thumbdwn:

Second time around we actually had a couple of process guys on lates in the manufacturing bit of the building, although the one who twigged what was going on didn't call the police - he was too scared and called his girlfriend. At least she had the sense to summon Old Bill, although it took ages for them to come because the Fuzz naturally didn't believe her (must admit, if I got a call from a woman saying her boyfriend's just called to say his work's being burgled, I'd be pretty sceptical too...!)

There were rumours that the security people who 'overlooked' the window managed to somehow 'let slip' this information to the burglars...

Any way to track the PC's if they go online using the MAC addresses? Assuming they were listed, like anybody does that.

Best of luck.
