Tap into reversing light circuit on facelift twin door

Featured Replies

I've bought a dash cam with a rear mounted camera that needs to wire into the reversing light electrical circuit. I've noticed the lights (Original Equipment  LED)  are actually in the twin door . The car in the S model (originally without parking sensors) but was fitted with the Skoda parking sensor module as part of my purchase.

My question is is there a reasonably easy (preferably not taking the twin door too bits) wiring tap-in point for a 12v when reverse engaged so I can wire in the relevant wire on the rear camera

Your car is can bus based so IIRC you can't just splice into the reversing lights.

Perhaps try using the reverse switch on the gearbox?

What make of dashcam is it?

I take it it is the Mirror type that goes full view when reverse is selected

I have fitted a few dual cameras to taxis in my time and never seen one wired to reverse except for this feature which is only a extra not really needed
