At the moment you can still pick them up for peanuts, but the prices are definately on the up.

At the last check there were only 43 Rapids registered with the DVLA, and just over 100 Estelles, so they are more rare than most people realise. Of course there are bound to be many more that are hidden away in peoples garages that aren't included in those figures, but obviously we aren't talking huge numbers.

lovely car, inspiration to us all, how he keeps it like that and uses it so much i will never know...a few weeks ago, he drove 700miles in it (in a weekend! )

Nice car if i needed a cheap motor that would be an infinately more appealing option than any old vauxhall or ford.

i had the chance of a lovely sandy beige coloured one a whie back and turned it down.

Then i read an article in ccc abot one with an impreza turbo engine.

needless to say if was gone when i went back.

I still like them and the sound of the rally version engine :thumbup:in the estelles is magic.

Never did see any of the older skodas broken down on the side of the road....and they still hold records for the most rally wins in their class
