Overhead sunglasses holder

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have just changed from mk3 vrs estate to 110 petrol Monte Carlo hatch. Nice car and very pleased with it but I miss the poke of the vrs however I am looking to fit a overhead sunglasses holder. Can you get them for the Fabia 3 and if so are they easy to retro fit ?

I assume you mean the glasses holder that pops out by the lights in the roof? If so then yes as my SE-L has one [emoji106] Not got a clue about retrofit though sorry!!

Does the sunglasses glider come as standard on the Fabia Estate SE L? In the brochure it says it's available but there is no option to add as far as I can see so I'm presuming this means it does come as standard

Yeah! thanks for the response

Does that mean it cannot be retrofitted? If not, why not?

I guess with the panoramic roof, there is no place to fit the sunglasses holder. The interior light and the related fittings are probably different.

The panaramic roof controls are usually there instead, are they not?

On the Fabia, the Panoramic Room is simply one fixed piece of glass, covering most of the roof space, not split as on other models...it doesn't move, so no controls.

The_Raz: the header panel at the leading edge of the roof looks same as non-pano versions. But looks may be deceiving. Time to stop being lazy and ask my tame Skoda dealer.

Thanks for the input, guys...or gals.

Ah okay. Used to have a Golf with a pano roof n it was all electric so i thought itd be similar to that.

Bet its nice to let the light in none the less :).

It really is brilliant. To-day we have blue sky, sunshine, 17decC and the interior of the car is incredibly light and airy and I catch glimpses of the Red Arrows practicing overhead. What's not to like?

Sounds lovely mate!

The holder is kind of useless, in my opinion. The glasses vibrate when music. Also, it's full of dust, I have no clue where that dust comes from.

I'd really like to add a centre located sunglasses holder to my wife's Polo 6R 6C but so far I've had to make do with the old VW Golf style one that replaces a grab handle.  My Audi S4 has centre sunglasses holder, and yes it makes a noise, which usually takes me an hour or so to work out where it is coming from, with conflicting suggestions from wife!  Removing and using the sunglasses only changes the noise, time for some careful application of white grease or something, very annoying!!

One other comment, my wife's previous Polo was a 9N 2003MY, I blundered upon a box with cover that replaces the trinket tray, which I thought was brilliant, and make the dashboard look a lot better, wife hated it, plus, it needed opened and closed a lot to quieten the noises it made a bit - again, like these centre mounted sunglasses holders, it used these sort of geared plastic wheels to damped the opening action - I don't think that VW ever marketed these "boxes with covers" in UK, I'm guessing all stocks ended up on ebay etc and the noises they made/caused might have been a large part of why they were dropped from the options/accessories list.

Had anyone found out if it is possible to fit a central glasses holder with a panoramic roof? Would quite like one in my Monte Carlo.
