2 Active Bluetooth connections

Really liking this... its great to have my work phone (Blackberry Leap Smartphone) and personal phone connecting to the car at the same time.

Best bit is when either ring they come through the cars bluetooth... no more messing turning blue tooth off on one device now!

Also useful for when the work phone is at home and the MRS is in car too with her phone!

Just a shame our MY16 Spaceback which has the same Amundsen unit does not seem to support this.

Shame I can't have work phone (iPhone 5s) connected via Bluetooth at same time as own phone (iPhone 6) connected via CarPlay....

another "shame" is, Columbus BT connection doesn't provide GPS data :(

have to use external device -

Leadtek 9559x

this particular model some why asks for pin(0000) on each connecting attempt,

haven't found any other which would contain antenna input

Why would you need GPS data to be sent over Bluetooth? With Android Auto, the phone receives the input from a number of car sensors - GPS, compass, speedometer, light sensor etc.

Sown side.. is if your using android auto, it disables the bluetooth phone so the other phone wont connect.

so its dual phones or android auto

Why do you not just rely on phone GPS? Works well to do this in CarPlay.

1. are you sure about GPS data? btw useless Smartgate doesn't provide GPS data.

2. Android Auto doesn't support Waze

3. Android Auto is country dependent, i'm not ready for following xxx

Here is short step-by-step howto:

Android Auto (AA) on Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800F) with Seat Navigation Plus with FullLink Option

================================================== =============================

Items required:

  • 1x Samsung GALAXY S5 mini - SM-G800F with stock firmware 5.1.1
  • 1x Car with FullLink headunit (HU) - (i have Seat Cupra ST MY2016) with Navigation Plus unit with Fullink Option -

    sw version: 5QA035824, Hardware: H24, SW 0245

  • 1x short good USB cabel (Samsung original preferred), avoid cheap chinese fakes!

- preparations:

- make proper backup (nandroid backup or kies backup or samsung smart switch - recommended

- remove sim-card

1. upgrade galaxy s5 mini to lolipop 5.1.1 if you dont have stock 5.1.1fw

Note: need to be stock ROM, as custom rom has build dpi-change mode, which stops using android auto.

have tried CM11,CM12, none is working (right now), partial success with custom roms without baked dpi-change...But lot of debugging and ugly coding. Avoid! Mirrorlink is and will never work on SG5Mini!

I have upgraded my SG5mini using oDIN 3.10 with following firmware:

G800FXXU1AOG2_G800FOXX1AOG1_ORX.zip - available at sammobile

If you have issues with upgrade, try to use PIF file and repartitioning in first stage, then in second stage install PDA rom. Check internet and google!

After proper upgrade, first start your galaxy s5 mini, don't enter anything -> skip all possible setups, avoid creating gmail account/samsung account now (will be handled later). If you have already fw with 5.1.1, do factory reset (and backup data before this!)

2. connect mobile with PC via USB cable and upload to mobile applications FakeGPS and VyprVPN. Search APKmirror or google for apk.

-com.lexa.fakegps.apk

-VyprVpn-2.13.0.5839.apk or higher

before install enable mock mode (in developer options) and enable install from untrusted sources.

Install both applications using file browser (bundled in mobile)

3. connect to your WIFI network

4. start vyprVPN and connect to US region, what ever server is available. Key icon will appear on status bar.

VyprVPN registration is free for first 500mb data, which is sufficient.

5. start fakeGPS and have position set to US. run google maps and check if you are in US. If not, dont continue.

6. create google account based in US. Alternatively you can precreate this using your home PC with US proxy. Make

sure, that maps.google.com navigate you to US!

7. check on mobile that maps.google.com navigate to US! If not, don't continue

8. connect mobile to your US gmail account

9. Go Google PlayStore-> search for Android Auto and install. As you are in US region, application is visible and

installable. If you dont see application, you are not in US region and you need to recheck steps from beginning. I

recommend to make factory reset of mobile and check if VPN is working!

Known problems:

- Android Auto is not in Google Apps Store - you are not in US region. Clear all cache (Android Auto, Google PlayStore, check VPN, and retry.

- This item isn't available in this country - invalid region-non US. Factory reset and rework. Android Auto + ontop apps are eligible only for US.

10. go to your car, wifi must be available and your mobile need to be connected via VyprVPN to US.

11. Car->Settings->Factory Reset->Fullink

12. Mobile->enable bluetooth and have mobile paired with car, allow data transfer on car and on mobile. Wait a

minute. Android Auto is not working yet without bluetooth enabled, but there are portions of code that Android Auto will work over wifi soon!

13. Mobile->Settings->Applications->Applications Manager->on tab installed you will see Android Auto.

Go to tab All->Google Playstore->Clear Data.

14. Car->Fullink-> set to Android Auto go to Devices, you will see empty list

15. On mobile press the Home button for 3seconds -> you will see all apps running, remove all from right to have clear memory!

16. connect mobile with usb cable to car, bluetooth needs to be always on

17. on devices list you will see "Samsung Android" new device

18. Click to connect, you will see new screen on mobile (android Auto) If not, disconnect cable, re-connect, clear cache memory in android auto apps, google play store apps or restart mobile.

This is common, that Android Auto will not start automatically. Recomended is to clear cache of Android auto, Google PlayStore and kill all Android Auto apps using task bar (home button pressed). Sometimes this takes 10 times to launch, as AA is very buggy.

17. when you see Android auto application, click on install and allow all applications to download. It will be Google text-to-speach, Google Maps, Google Music. This will be special apps approved with Android Auto, so you need to be within wifi connection and allow 10 minuts to download. Approve all dialogs. Registration to Google Music is not mandatory.

18. finally Android auto will start and you will see your screen on head unit

19. disable google automatic updates -> Google Playstore->Settings->Disable automatic updates

20. disconnect from US google account

21. connect to your original google account

22. restore your backup & enter sim-card
