Amundsen SDcard lost album artwork

Featured Replies

Hello all.

When I copy an album from my PC music library to an SD card, to use in my Amundsen, the album artwork is sometimes lost, sometimes retained.  There was a thread here on the subject, but it was over 2 years ago & concerned the Bolero. (And I didn't understand the answers anyway).

Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a more recent and understandable solution?

For info, the source files were ripped from the original CD via Windows Media Player.

Thanks as always

Not sure this is the answer as I have an older Bolero without this function. I do have a Sonos though and you must have a .jpg file in the folder with the artwork on.

I'd assume that the Amudsen would have to read the jpg rather than embedded artwork within the mp3?

I had a very similar problem when transferring my Windows Media Player ripped files to Android Google Play music app.  It turned out when Windows Media Player rips files with artwork it finds it just puts folder.jpg and a couple of other files in the directory, however when you supply your own artwork after the rip it embeds the artwork in all mp3 files and creates the folder files, these albums displayed OK.

So I needed to embed the folder.jpg in the individual mp3 and found an article that described how to do it and pointed to free software:

http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html

I now do this automatically every time I add a CD to my collection now.

Hope this helps.

You will loose album art if it originally at a size that is not optimised for the MIB unit. It is best set at 500x500, those that transfer will be at or close to this setting. It's easy to adjust the art size in Microsoft paint
