Best 'bang per buck' mod you've ever done?

Featured Replies

Since having the Blueflame exhaust fitted earlier in the week to the Octy ive been thinking what other mods can make such a big difference to the car. Out of all the handling, performance and brake mods - which has given you the biggest gains for the lowest outlay ie which mod has offered the 'best bang per buck'.

I cant believe the performance difference the exhaust, cat and downpipe has made and for

Jabba custom remap. Even my 2 sons with their 210bhp Audi S3 and 260bhp+ 200SX S14a are suitably impressed by my 4X4's performance. :D

Although quite a lot of "buck", if you've already spent hard earned cash on eeking out every little extra from your engine with this and that aftermarket pipe and tube, then it has to be a gearbox rebuild with a LSD.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing else comes close to transforming how quickly your four wheels will transerve a particular stretch of twisty tarmac (ideally a circuit that is). It is quite staggering how it changes the inherent front wheel drive understeer properties of your car's handling (even with modded suspension) into a neutral sure-footed stance that you can boot out of any bend in any (sensible) gear.

As football pundits remark, "it's worth the season ticket alone" :D

my best mod so far is easily selling my 2.5td pajero and buying my octy vRS. now THAT put a grin on my face!!!!!

ps, dont just take my word for it, just ask the bank robbers who stole it!!!!

£35 for a CAI kit from e-bay. Still available on there.

Ask Goose or Goochie for their comments.

£200 for a vRS suspension set up

£375 for a remap at Jabba

= £575 for a totally transformed car. That has got to be good value in my book
