Rustiest Octavia?

Featured Replies

Still though,a lot of cars would look worse with over 200K miles.

Only needs a new wing, some sanding down and some good paint. It's remarkably good on the inside though, it's got that going for it.

Im wondering how it even got in that state bearing in mind these cars are galvanised.  You have seen the other panels too?

lived by the sea?

deffo living by the sea issues id say

wouldn't take much to disturb the galv coating (remember there are two types of galvanising - hot dip which leaves a rough surface - think field gates - and cold galv which is basically a coating of zinc primer) just a scrape on a gat post for example deep enough to hit the metal, then not properly repaired would cause it. Rest looks fairly free of rot, so a scrape type damage would be my guess.

Saltburn is by the sea, but that looks like its been in it!

That´s a sight I´ve not seen before. Maybe we should get ready to see more of this? The oldest are approaching 20years old at this stage so tin worm is bound to become a factor

I'd suspect that wing is a cheap pattern one that's been put on at an insurance companies expense at some stage.
