I tried that on my MY19 272 and it was having none of it! The control module would not accept the changes unfortunately. I've seen that S3 owners have had the same issue.

I tried it a few times but it comes with a specific failure (I can't remember the exact message now). I think they changed the module when they added the GPF possibly.

Yeah, me neither. :wondering:
My request to install OEM tips on the new silencers turned out to be more complicated than expected, they will finish welding everything tomorrow.

I've gone for Supersprint rear boxes.

Can't you just remove the actuator?

I've removed the springs in each actuator. Thing is, for 3 minutes after the car has been switched off, the actuators try and shut the flaps every 30 seconds or so.

I really need to get the proper blanking kit, but i'm apprehensive about buying the wrong one. Someone showed me a link but i've lost it.

It would be helpful if i had a photo of what the pin set up is. I've had my car up on the ramps but the cable going into the actuator is difficult to get off, even when the exhaust is dropped.

Not sure what would be best place to insert two videos related to 280 exhaust sound.

I have done resonator delete modification and I can clearly hear more deeper noise from exhaust from 2750rpm to maybe 4000rpm inside of the car.

I will check in following month if it is annoying or not for long distance traveling. 2750rpm is around 120km/h.

Further modifications I have are Milltek 200 cell HJS Downpipe and Do88 Intercooler with Stage 1 tune, intake elbow and silicone hose.

So higher turbo pressure is present and you can hear it during launch and also audible farts on manual upshift in S on flyby.

Hope these videos will help somebody to decide if this mode is for them or not as I could not found some some good ones on YouTube. Most of them have modification of backboxes too or downpipe without cat.

200 Cell Downpipe adds little to nothing to the sound by itself.

Your milltek dp will help reduce the noise without the resonator otherwise it would insane!

I've a custom exhaust which consist of 3.5" decat dp through a 3" mid with 2 resonators and then down to 2.5" at the Y split into custom backboxes. I can say that with the valves closed is alot louder and with the valves open it's loud at low rpm!

Quick question, does my 2023 "facelift" 280 have exhaust flaps? it certainly don't sound like it has anything making it any louder "at any time"

It's fine that it's quiet but after seeing this thread I'm now curious.

I am familiar with them, previously had an SQ2

It does not have, as well as 272 version.

Yes, Milltek DP mutes the sound. With just downpipe, exhaust sound is almost the same as stock, nobody notice the difference.

Superb is not Golf, so it should not sound as one. It is just ok with resonator delete. Especially from inside of the car.
