I seem to have a problem when i try starting my car it splutters and has no revs at first and then picks up after about 30secs then the rwvs are around the 1300/1400rpm on tickover, Then when i goto drive off the car splutters a bit and has a lack of power, but when i accelerate there's no power and splutters and pops right up until 3rd gear but does continue to do this for a while. Any suggestions as to what this could be? It has been on 3 different diags machines and doesn't throw up any codes also i have heard a clicking noise from the fuel injection rail?? Thanks

How loud is the clicking? These cars aren't known for being quiet on tick over, the injectors and the evap can make enough racket to make you think something is wrong when most of the noise is pretty normal.

Your running issue could be down to the coolant temp sensor, no code thrown but a dodgy reading is messing up the fueling. Something else to consider would be the maf (try unplugging it see if it runs smoother), coil packs (although a misfire code would probably come up). Few things to consider there, assuming your airflow (leaks?) and other ignition related things like spark plugs are all good?

Exactly these I would check too. Had similar issues, maf ok, coil packs are new, spark plugs are new. Also I temporarily exchanged injectors and temp sensor with another Octy. It proved to be bad fuel quality. I filled the tank with new petrol, it runs much much better now but I think I should use a cleaning product, sth like RedLine SL-1 or STP fuel Injector Cleaner.

Buster5 have you tried anything similar?

Suggestions anyone? 

It could be something like dodgy fuel, I only ever used v power in mine, with a remap you have to use 99ron really. This sounds a bit more terminal though.

I know I have a diesel now but it hates cheap cack, didn't cause firing issues as such but it wasn't right. I put millers eco max in with that rubbish to help it burn through which was good stuff. Don't know if millers do petrol stuff?
