LED sidelights

Featured Replies

HI all, Just wondering if anyone had any success with using LED's as sidelights  on the Pre F/L ?.. I've tried upteen LED bulbs from cheap to not so cheap, Error free and non error free and none of them work.  So im giving up a sticking to the normal 501 bulbs....

i have been running the latest style 6 led canbus friendly with dome covered tops side light bulbs all winter used every morning as i start work at 5am,last week one started flashing at oncoming cars and  has completly stopped working i bought a pack of four so i have swapped it now, but i am starting to think they are more hassel than they are worth they seem to burn out within a few months if used daily, they do look good tho nice and bright and match my headlights colour.

As per my thread I found that these work fine in my pre-FL

i have these the 6 led ones they are very bright but one of mine has just burnt out after about 5 months of daily use they are cheap so i bought four ,i think all led side light bulbs have a short life span if used daily as i have tryed a few different ones now .

When i tried them yesterday the LED bulbs wouldn't light up and there was a buzzing sound coming from the engine bay towards the coolant reservoir, So i gave up before something went bang   :notme:

Thinking back the only issue i had was the led sidelights would only work if the led was fitted one way,if i turned it round & fitted it the other way it wouldnt work... :D

You are correct.

This is because they have a positive and a negative, unlike normal bulbs. .
