help new policy for octavia vrs where to start

Featured Replies

The time has come to renew my insurance, the first time i'm in the market for a full 12mth policy since purchasing my octavia vrs in October.

I've had my renewal through from Privilege, £819 which didn't make me feel privileged at all :finger: , so I browsed comparethemarket in regard to what that could summon up. A few quid cheaper, but nothing fancy.

As the evening has progressed I've decided to try some independent/not on comparison insurers: LV, Aviva and Direct Line. At present Aviva have come out on top by being a massive £150 difference from my renewal which is awesome.

I normally just use comparison sites but as my insurance increased since swapping from my Ibiza to the VRS I thought I'd try the indy's to see what they can offer. Adrian Flux last month quoted me over a grand so I won't be using them.

Before I commit with Aviva, I am wondering if anyone can suggest some other independent insurers who may be potentially cheaper?

Cheers

I went from Adrian Flux to Hastings Direct. Half the renewal price plus other benefits.

Have you tied Chriss Knott the forum sponsor? They beat my quote 2 years back, and both renewals have beaten any other quote I could get online...and that's before any haggling!

I used the Meerkat and got mine for about £230 :-)

You say you tried LV. Do you have a relative who has ever worked for the Civil Service, BT, or any other company that was once owned by the government?

If so, then I think you'd be eligible to join the "Civil Service Motoring Association" (CSMA) and that got me a 20% discount on LV motor.

Been with the AA for 2 years now, which is extremly unusual for me to stay with same company, mind you their renewal quote was sensible.

Had to contact them couple of weeks ago re change of address.  London to East Sussex and the preminum dropped by £102 which I was not expecting  and I am sure I can do better on next renewal.

Car + location = £££

Good luck.

Chris Knott refused to insured anything with an L postcode; I guess Liverpool is still the 1980s ghetto!

Gone with Aviva as I got an additional 15% off due to having life insurance with them.

Hi,

I'm sorry we couldn't help out but thanks for trying us. Maybe you can try us again next year.

Regards,

Dan.
