Amundsen / RNS 310 fitted

Featured Replies

I slotted a VW RNS 310 satnav into my 2007 Roomster Scout today, it fitted in the standard stereo surround.

I needed an aerial adaptor as the RNS 310 has a dual radio input, and a GPS module which I routed behind the top glovebox and stuck to the dash on the near side.

As a 'stand-alone' unit (ie no integration into the maxidot display) it works absolutely fine, I have the navigation disc in the CD slot and a 32gb SD card full of mp3's in the memory card slot.

I have to manually switch off the unit, pulling the key makes no difference.

I've had no issues with the unit keeping up with the road whilst travelling.

I've not connected the VCDS cable to see if there's any errors yet.

I  don't want to teach you to suck eggs but hopefully it's clear of the airbag if it  deploys?

You need to remove that glovebox to gain access to the back of the stereo AND the end of the dash, once routed the wire then settles out of harms way
