Some of you with very long memories may recall that within a few days of taking delivery of my Octavia vRS, the air conditioning vent in the passenger footwell came off. The dealer told me it was an all day job, and they had the car in apparently to lift up the carpet to get at the plastic clip.

Well, it looks like the work wasn't really up to standards. Where you might expect the plastic peg that clips the vent into place, I have discovered a self-tapping screw. Not exactly out of the workshop manual, I'm sure!

I don't think I'll be going back...
