Anyone used Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking for some tyres which can handle a couple of track days over the summer months but are also good for the road.

I was leaning toward the Nankang NS-2R's which have great reviews and used by a few of the Fabia VRS lads who raved about them.

Then I came across these which also have great reviews online and are £50 cheaper across the four. I'm hoping someone has first hand experience of them?

Got them on the civic...   Excellent but rumour has it they wear quickly.

Don't mind that, they just need to make it through the summer :)

On my second set, and I've actually found they last longer, 11/12k instead of 7/8k.

Grip is not as good as previous 4 sets (GY Assymetric 1&2 & Bridgestone RE050A) in the wet but dry grip is equal.

I would buy again no hessitation.

MK1 Leon FR+ tdi for reference.

They are a very good tyre.

I've gone through a few sets on my Fabia, but the only slight drawback (which I doubt you'll have an issue with) is the 215 profile being slightly too big for me.

Shame really as they're also pretty good in the wet.

They are a soft compound and don't last as long as other brands, but I'm happy with the trade off for great grip all the way to the end.

Got them on the front of mine.

Great price and they have worn pretty well so far.

Done approx 11.5k miles on them now, just under 3mm left.

Did Rockingham with them.

Bought them mainly for the good price and awesome looking tread pattern to be honest.

No complaints in the handling, I've had Conti SC3 and SC5's in the past. I don't drive like a complete loon but I have my moments where I need confidence in the twisty bits and they give me that no problem.

I'm now fantasizing over a set of Federal RSR 595's as I have winter tyres for then it gets bad, they seem so cheap!

I had a set of these on my old Octavia II vRS after seeing some good reports here on Briskoda. A decent tyre for the price but didn't last as long as the Michelins on the car from new.

I'm looking at them as a 'track tyre' so as long as they las the summer that's great, just don't won't a strictly track tyre so I'm not having to swop them over all the time. The three are the Vredestein, Nankang NS-2R or Federal 595 RSR's, all around £300 for a set and all get good reviews, to much choice !!!

7.5k on the front of my old Octavia PD 140 estate. Down to the cords as well on the inner shoulder! Checking checked (all ok) and replaced with Hankook v12 Evo that did 10k with even wear. I found them noisey as wll

I loved the SporTrac3 that were serially fitted to my old Toledo but was unimpressed with the Ultrac.
