Front Assist Loss of Sensor Field Alert

Featured Replies

Driving up and down the A12 between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth this weekend on a dual carriageway with encroaching concrete walls on each side, I had repeated warnings of Front Assist sensor vision/field loss. There is no problem but this post might reassure other owners who experience similar warnings and like me, search the forums for useful information rather than ring the dealer. My wife suggested it was the walls causing the alert and frankly if I hadn't had to drive up and down that stretch of road repeatedly I might not have cottoned on.

This is interesting because some large parts of the highways I drive here are only 2 lanes with concerte barriers (I make approximately 130km per day) & I've also driven through several very long tunnels.

I've never had any ACC or front assist issues.

There must be some special combination of conditions on that road causing this problem because stationary walls shouldn't normally cause it a problem.

Were there reflective strips on the walls by any chance?

The only time I've have an ACC/FA warning was driving up 6 floors of a helical car park exit ramp.

After a few floors it tells me ACC is not available which clears as soon as you hit a straight road at the exit.
